Dyslexia & Literacy Support

Kōkako Speech Therapy collaborates with a psychologist and psychiatrist to support children and young adults with learning difficulties. We work as a team to conduct psychoeducational assessments, tailor goals and deliver interventions.

Why choose Speech Therapists to support your child’s literacy difficulties or dyslexia?

Speech therapists are the best professionals to support students with dyslexia for several reasons:

  • We strongly understand language development and how it relates to literacy.
  • We can assess the speech therapy component of specific learning disorders.
  • We have training and expertise in evidence-based practices for teaching reading and writing.
  • We can work with students to improve phonological awareness, decoding, comprehension and spelling.
  • We have experience collaborating with other professionals, like teachers and psychologists, to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with dyslexia.

Ultimately, speech therapists are uniquely equipped to provide comprehensive support for students with dyslexia. We aim to help them unlock their full potential and give the parents the reassurance they need.
